Class & Levels Syllabus
This is the Syllabus for all our classes. Students should be able to demonstrate listed skills before moving onto the next level for each genre. Use this syllabus as a guideline to assess the skills of current students. Teachers will test students out to progress to the next level when they are ready. Level changes will only happen at the beginning of a new quarter. Level changes will NOT happen mid quarter.
All prerequisites, required supplementary classes and recommended supplementary classes may vary in availability. Students are held
accountable only for what is offered quarterly.
Overall we recommend hair that is shoulder length or longer be pulled back in a low bun for the entirety of their class time at OLLDA. Hair
should not be a distraction during class. If it is not pulled back from the beginning it distracts the student and takes time away from their
training. Hip Hop students can wear a low or high ponytail.
The Required Attire is so that the student can move freely and without distraction of loose, too tight, or “trendy” clothing. Ollda will be strictly
enforcing dress codes beginning our Winter Quarter 2024. All of the required attire is listed per class below. OLLDA apparel is allowed.
Main points for ALL levels:
-Musicality: Know your counts, rhythm and music.
-Emotional Intelligence: Beyond movement skills. Critical thinking approach to training.
-Appropriate performance: Full out always unless asked to mark.
-Have fun!: We train hard and seriously so that we can ALL enjoy the experience.
